Just watched "Stay Alive" and it was junk(I didn't write a review. It's not worth it.). A teen horror flick which didn't fully exploit its "horror video game turned into reality" concept.

However, they used "Elizabeth Bathory" for the game.I knew I read about her somewhere...I read some pages about Elizabeth, the Blood Countess. Now prepare yourself.(Well, if you plan on visiting the link.)

Pero hindi namin nasimulan yung pelikula...parang nung Shrek..

Pero may advantage naman yun...dahil hanggang ngayon iniisip ko pa rin kung bakit niya pinaputok yung apat na bala dun sa naabutan naming part...

Ang mali nila ay bakit si Gosling ang ginamit nilang lawyer. Parang hindi bagay.
at saka kadalasan nag ma-mumble sila ng mga sinasabi nila!!!

Anthony Hopkins pa rin. The best sa mga ganyang pelikula.

Yun nga lang nabitin ako...ang ikli...kasalanan yan ni merlin at arthur eh...umikli dahil nag-teleport lang sila ulit sa Far Far Away!!

Yun lang talaga eh...kaya nabawasan ng isang star dahil bitin.

Yey. Nanood ako sa pirated dvd! hahaha bakit ba?

Ok ang cinematography. Lalo na yung scene transitions.

Ok ang special effects at cosmetics. .Although yung stick insect sa una ay medyo nakakaturn-off, yung iba maganda talaga. Ang ingenious ng ginawa nila para sa paa nung faun. Color-keyed na yung shins at paa nung actor ganun. Hindi siya CG. Pati na rin dun sa taong nasa kamay ang mata kaya hindi makapagsabon ng kamay. Ayan ang kulang sa pelikulang Pilipino eh. Puro kayo CG eh. Masmaganda pa yung Never-ending story kaysa sa latest effects natin. Iyon ay dahil gumagamit silang prosthetics! Mag-isip nga kayo. Hindi niyo ba nakikita kung gaano kayo pinagtatawanan ng mga tao tuwing film fest? Lalo na yang Exodus na yan!!! (Except Roadrunner Studios. Magaling sila. Sila ang gumawa ng effects sa Spirit Warriors. Bwahaha) Gusto kong ulitin ang statement na to ng isandaang beses. Anyabang ko parang kaya kong gumawa ng kahit CGI na paruparo..haha...

Story-wise wala akong masabi. Mapapatanong ka kung totoo ba yung ending o hindi. Medyo dragging nga lang pag lumilipat kay "El Kapitan" ang storya. Mararamdaman mo talaga ang sentimiyento ni Ofelia. Makikita natin kung gaano ka-morbid ang fairy tales. Eh totoo naman eh..search niyo...morbid talaga ang mga original versions ng mga fairy tales. Ayoko na i-spoil. Natipuhan ko talaga yung story dahil gusto ko ang mga pelikula na may unpredictable or weird endings. Tulad na lamang ng Audition.

Sa soundtrack, halos isa lang ang tune na ginamit nila. Pero hindi iyon isang masamang bagay. Dahil dun mo makikita ang mood ng pelikula. Nakaka-lss ang lullaby ni Mercedes.

Hmmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm...

Alam niyo ba na si del Toro din ang nag direct sa Mimic,Hellboy at Blade II?

Hindi ako sigurado pero kanina nung sumakay akong ikot sa Vinzon's, may napansin akong kakaibang gumagalaw sa isang butas sa medyo ibaba ng isang acacia malapit sa antayan ng Katipunan na jeep. Kulay brown siya tapos kumikilos. Ang maiisip mo na hayop ay isang ibon o kaya daga. Eh hindi naman pwedeng ibon. Dahil ang mga ibon masmabilis at iba ang kilos kaysa sa nakita ko. Hindi rin pwedeng daga kasi usual na color ng daga satin ay black o dark brown at malaki siya para sa daga at ang daga hindi sanay sa tao kaya magtatago agad yun. Naisip namin squirrel. Hindi naman malabo mangyari yun dahil mayroong squirrels sa makati. Pero kelangan ko pa i-confirm. Please report any sightings to me. Hahaha joke lang....

Yeah. I'm going to be biased about this film because I love Masked Rider. And I like Masked Rider Kabuto.

Although the movie was set on a different kind of MRK world...it was pretty much ok. I don't care if the plot was stereotypical. A Masked Rider in the title is enough to make this a 4-star film.

I'll go straight to the point. This is just another typical teenage murder movie. The good theme was wasted. It might be better if they just did a semi-documentary. If ever Brazilians harvesting organs from western tourists were true. And I was bored with the chasing sequence near the ending. Yeah. Go and make a thrill out of people chasing each other in an unlighted cave. If ever we see them.

{*Don't Let Me Manage An Earth-saving Monopoly.*}

I just downloaded an old dos game (old dos game- redundant isn't int?) called Xcom: UFO Defense, which, according to IGN, is the best PC Game Of All Time.

Your job is to run a "company" which defends your funding countries from alien invasions. It's pretty detailed. You can build and develop bases on different countries, order ships, equipments,crews and other stuff, research and manufacture weapons, vehicles etc,you can choose to kill or contain aliens(which are of different kinds yey.)...the tasks are almost endless. Funding from different countries is relative to the amount of protection you give to them. So if you let Washington DC fall into the hands of empire-themed aliens with insanely accurate laser guns, you can be sure that your dollar account will go down the drain.

So there, I tried it. On my first game I ended up letting 2 UFOs escape from my interceptors. I reset my game so the Earth will forget my bad reputation. On my second game, my Interceptors (sadly it took 2 interceptors for that small thing) shot down the first UFO that was detected by my small radar. Hooray for me! I sent my BEST CREW to the crash site (which was in China) to check if there were alien survivors. All of the little grey men survived. Well the mission said that I should kill all survivors and retrieve the UFO and some alien tech that we can use. I finished the mission. I finished it with only 3 out of my 8 crew members left. There were only 3 aliens. They killed my 5 crew members. I even accidentally sent a soldier carrying nothing and let him walk out of the ship. My rating was terrible.

So much for my worldwide defense management.

Anyway, it's a fun game.

If you remember the Train Station stage in Mortal Kombat II...you may have seen a sign saying "Boon Tobias" which is actually the reversed name of a secret character in the game: Noob Saibot. (He looks like a Sector/Cyrax silhouette.)

I learned that "Boon Tobias" was also the surnames of the series creators:John Tobias and Ed Boon.
