You'll feel like a l33t haxx0r on a Hollywood sci-fi movie.
Sorry for the l33t sp3ak. I can't help it. It's a hacker game..hahaha!
You take on the role of a newly recruited hacker working for Uplink Corporation. I don't know what Uplink Corporation does aside from hacking and running banks. It seems that their hacker employment is a big secret. After all, hacking is a crime.
As an Uplink hacker, you can accept contracts given by different companies and people to Uplink. You get paid for completed missions. Missions range from deleting important data on company mainframes, stealing data, modifying government records, tracing bank accounts(heck you can even steal money from accounts if you want to...I haven't tried that and I never will.) and many more.
You can use your loot to upgrade your gateway computer, buy important hacking software and buy add-ons to your computer, including physical security. (Like self-destruct systems, I think.)
And behold, the game has a story. You can either help a group in completing the most ruthless computer virus in development or you can help the good guys stop them with a counter-virus. but you can always stay neutral and mind your own business and waste the story.
The downside of this great game is the soundtrack. Which will remind you of DOS games.
Pros:
- Finally there's a hacker game.
- Thrilling.
- Short learning curve
- There's a modding community
- Can run on old computers plus it's only 26 MB!!!
Cons:
-Soundtrack and SFX are lamez0rz!!!!
-Sometimes the menus are a bit buggy.
-Can get repetitive.
-The IRC and email features are not that interactive. Sob.
- Did I mention the soundtrack?
- IT'S ALREADY THE START OF THE SEM!!!!!
Magnifico
