4 QueSci students were suspended for 10 days as a punishment for making blog posts criticizing and attacking the current school Principal, Zenaida Sadsad.
Nakita ko si Ma'am Damo, Ma'am Bongon at Ma'am Cavo sa TV.
Anyway, ewan ko ha, wala kasi ako sa kisay so di ko alam nangyayari, akala ko naman nag die down na yung issue at eto pala ang nangyari...

sobrang minomonitor nila yan. nakita ko sa tracker ko na laging may nagggoogle kay "zenaida sadsad" at napapadpad sa blog ko kasi may pinost ako dati na entry ng quesci sa wikipedia. eh syempre nabanggit na principal siya dun.
Bago tayo maghusga, kailangan malaman yung exact post at yung justification ng anger. Remember na repressed ang atmosphere ng Quesci kahit noong panahon natin: kaya maiintindihan ko kung rant sa ibang avenues of expression ang gagamitin nila sa halip ng diplomatic negotiations (Madali sabihin kasi na ipadaan sa proseso blah blah college na kasi tayo, we're talking about high school students with notions of blind submission to authority, or at least only at the verge of discovering democracy).
Point is, I need a link. Haha. Tapos kailangan din mapulsohan kung ano ang kalagayan ng academic freedom sa Quesci bago natin iclaim na gumagana ang democratic process at civil negotiations dito. Once we know the concrete conditons in QCSHS and the exact statements of the suspended students, judging whether their actions were out of bounds or not would be more justified.

AFAIK wala sa jurisdiction ng school ang expression ng mga studyante sa labas ng area of responsibility nila. Regardless of opinion and degree of said opinion. We can criticize their form of dissent, but the content (read: admin fascism, as far as the blogs portray her) is telling.
We can only wish na extreme exaggeration lang yan (kahit na yung trend of dissent ay makikita sa maraming iba't ibang blogs). But knowing Quesci... Haha ala lang. XD

found one of the blogs. honestly, i think na mababaw lang naman ang dahilan ng mga bloggers - i mean, to fret over foundation day, flag ceremonies, and concerts? to be so mad na wala ng booths? it's enough cause to be annoyed, but it's not enough cause to even think of assassinating somebody.
we know gloria's critics lambast her daily in the most rude manner possible, and they get away with it. but they never talked about killing the President. THAT makes a BIG difference: a death threat is different from a criticism. bombing malacanang is different from rallying in front of malacanang.

I remember reading a blog or two poring over how there are bigger issues like the repression of the two HS publications, as well as other organizations like Himig Scientia and the Varsity. I do agree that ceremonies and concerts might seem trivial to a student (not necessarily to a child/teen), however these are but the tip of the iceberg as it is. Something might be wrong about a person who doesn't stop to wonder what exactly warranted such blog reactions.
Again, let me quote a fellow batchmate from UPM: "Talk about academic freedom. Since when did an administrator have the legal right to suspend a student citing reasons that are outside the school's jurisdiction?"

What I hear from students I talk to is that she made a whole lot more decisions-- bad decisions, at that... without providing any logical basis.
I plan on contacting Sir San Diego on this issue. He's been supposedly caught in the crossfire, and I want to get things straight from him, kasi I'm absolutely sure he knows what's going on.

also, this issue has been brewing all since the first semester, when i was still struggling with my thesis. the issue keeps cropping up, and its persistence suggests that there must really be a fire creating the smoke somewhere. XD
